Miss.Xia: Good morning,Mr.Anderson!Thanks for your coming.I hope we can have all the problems settled this morning.

Mr.Anderson: I hope so,too,Miss.Xia.

Miss.Xia: Im sorry to tell you that the quality of the goods you shipped last week is much inferior to that of the goods of our last order.

Mr.Anderson:What do you mean by inferior quality?

Miss.Xia: To our astonishment, about20%of the goods were moldy and in many cans there were even small brownish bugs crawling in and out. We cant accept them in this state.

Mr.Anderson:How come?I mean, our exports have to pass a rigid inspection before they are shipped.Our Inspection Bureau wont let go anything defective.

Miss.Xia: As much as I respect your Inspection Bureau,its obvious that the cans are no longer suitable for consumption.This is the survey report issued by CCIB.

Mr.Anderson: Thats weird!

Miss.Xia: We have suffered a loss of20%on the selling price because of the inferior quality of the products you sent us.We have the right to claim against you for compensation of all losses.

Mr.Anderson:Whats your requirement?

Miss.Xia: You should take back all the disqualified goods and compensate us for the value of the goods plus all losses sustained due to return of the cargo, such as freight, storage charges, insurance premium, interest,and inspection charges.

Mr.Anderson: I think after we make an investigation of the matter,well consider the allowance.

Miss.Xia: We hope you will settle this claim as soon as possible.

夏小姐:早上好,安德森先生,谢谢你能过来。我希望我们能在今天上午解决掉所有的问题。

安德森先生:这也是我所希望的,夏小姐。

夏小姐:很遗憾,你方上周发运的货物质量与我方上次所订的货物质量相比,要低劣得多。

安德森先生:你说低劣是什么意思?

夏小姐:令我们惊讶的是,大约20%的货物已发霉,甚至在许多罐头内有褐色小甲虫爬出爬进。这样的货物我们是不能接受的。

安德森先生:怎么会这样?我的意思是,我们的出口商品必须在装运前经过一道严格的检查。我们的检查局不会放过任何瑕疵品。

夏小姐:虽然我很尊敬你们的检查局,但是很明显罐头已经不能吃了。这是中国商检局签发的一份检验报告。

安德森先生:真奇怪!

夏小姐:由于你方所运送的货物质量问题,我们在售价上损失了20%。我们有权向你方提出赔偿我们的所有损失。

安德森先生:你们有什么要求?

夏小姐:你方应该收回不合格产品并向我方作出赔偿,也包括因退货而造成的损失,如货运费、仓储费、保险费、利息、商检费等。

安德森先生:我想等此事调查后,我们再考虑补偿。

夏小姐:我们希望你方尽早解决索赔问题。
